ASICS/Vaughan Junior & Cadet National Championships

Arkansas was well represented for the 5th straight year in the Junior & Cadet National Championships the week of July 15th – 20th in Fargo, ND.

Our state was represented by Cadet Greco, Junior Greco, Cadet Freestyle and Junior Freestyle teams.

Results:

Cadet Division: Aaron Grigsby placed 8th with a record of 5-3 in Cadet Greco – (Earned All-American Status)

Other Cadet top performers were:

Nick Noel  with a record of 5-2

Michael Crockett had an excellent debut with a record of 2-2

 

Top performances in the Junior Division:

Tyler Mann with a record of 3-2 (2012 All-American)

Jeff Bizzell with a record of 3-2

 

This years team was composed of 40 wrestlers from throughout the state:

Coach Grigsby, Coach West, Coach Butler, Coach Simmons and Coach Kincaid,

Team Leaders: Pat and Chelsea Smith, State Chairman- Kristi Mann

Arkansas was represented for the first time with our own Highly Qualified Official – Randy Steena
