School State Wrestling Tournament, Bentonville wins 3rd state title
in rematch

The 2009 AAA Sanctioned State Wrestling Tournament
will be held February 13th and 14th at the Stephens Center at the University
of Arkansas at Little Rock. Wrestling will begin at approximately 5:00
p.m. on Friday and will run until 10:00 p.m. that night. The following
day wrestling will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run throughout the day with
the State Finals starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening.
This will be the first year that the State Tournament is sanctioned
by the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA). Please click on to www.ahsaa.org,
which is the AAA website for more information on wrestling and how to
get your teams signed up for the State Tournament.
Greg Hatcher, President of the Arkansas Wrestling Association, and Pat
Smith, 4-Time NCAA Champion and former Coach at Oklahoma State University
will be the Tournament Directors for this event in conjunction with
Don Brodell and the Arkansas Activities Association. You may email all
three individuals at the addresses below should you have any questions.

to all Wrestling Schools:
With the state wrestling tournament nearing the AAA is requesting you
have your team's photo and rosters on their website as quickly as possible.
Greg Hatcher is in the process of putting together the program for the
event and needs this information as quickly as possible. Please assist
us with this!

RADIO TO DO NATIONWIDE BROADCAST OF ARKANSAS HIGH SCHOOL STATE WRESTLING
TOURNAMENT
Scott
Casper, the Producer of Takedown Radio, which is the only nationwide
broadcast in the United States for wrestling has announced that they
will broadcast the first Arkansas State Tournament sanctioned by the
AAA. Takedown Radio covers all 50 states and they will be covering our
State Tournament from start to finish where wrestling fans all across
the country can hear the action match by match. Scott Casper and his
crew will also be interviewing wrestlers, coaches, and others throughout
the State Tournament which will air on this broadcast. You can be sure
that we will be putting on a show for the nation with this wrestling
tournament and the fine venue that UALR provides.
The
